Grid Hosting offer support for both IMAP and POP3 protocols to access your email accounts.
Why Choose IMAP?
We recommend IMAP for most users as it’s ideal for modern email management. With IMAP, your emails are stored on the server, allowing you to access and synchronize them across multiple devices seamlessly. This is perfect for users who check their email on desktops, laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
When to Use POP3?
In some specific cases, you might prefer POP3. For example, if you're synchronizing your email with Gmail or another service that requires downloading and managing emails locally, POP3 can be the right choice.
- Use port 995 for secure, encrypted POP3 traffic.
- Use port 110 for unencrypted POP3 traffic (not recommended for security reasons).
For the best experience and enhanced security, we encourage using IMAP wherever possible.
